Fruit

Very juicy, richly and delicately sweet, without noticeable acidity, with a distinctive, unmistakable spice. Tastes good even while still firm. Pressure-sensitive after picking.

Growth

Medium-strong to strong growth. Suited to garden and espalier training; the fruit is wind-sensitive.

Yield

Bearing starts early, from the 5th to 6th year, later regular and abundant. Strong tendency to drop fruit at tree ripeness.

Notes

Higher heat needs, cultivation up to about 350 m, on nutrient-rich, deep soil in a rain-sheltered, well-ventilated spot. Best grown as a protected wall espalier due to scab and wind sensitivity. Tree-ripe mid September to early October, ready to eat late October to late January; keeps 3 to 4 months.

Care

Train as a rain-protected wall espalier to prevent scab. Pick in good time, as fruit drops heavily at tree ripeness.
