Description
Fruit
Juicy, semi-melting, only moderately sweet, predominantly fresh sourish to tart and only faintly aromatic. Ripe fruit turns mealy quickly.
Growth
Strong growth. Suited to standard orchard, garden and espalier.
Yield
Bearing starts early, later high to very high; regarded as a heavy cropper.
Notes
Original name Elbersdorfer Butterbirne. Does not tolerate cold, wet soils; higher heat needs. Cultivation up to 300 m, above that as espalier. Tree-ripe early to mid September, ready to eat mid September to October; keeps only about one month.

Avoid cold, wet sites. Use promptly and do not pick too late, as the fruit softens fast.
