Very juicy, very tart with high tannin content; a classic perry pear, also suited to blending with apple juice.
Growth
Medium vigour, suited to the standard orchard.
Yield
Very high and regular yield.
Notes
Among the most undemanding pear varieties; very frost-hardy and resistant to disease (except scab) and pests; low soil demands. Cultivation recommended even in mountain areas above 350 m. Pomological studies in 2023 confirm identity with Grüne Jagdbirne. Late blossom, ready to pick mid to late October, ready to use December; keeps 1 to 2 months in natural storage.

Very robust perry pear with minimal care needs. Watch mainly for scab, otherwise barely susceptible.
