Description
Fruit
Fine-celled, fully melting, very juicy, sweet with a fine, at times tart acidity and abundant pleasant spice. On poor sites flavour quality suffers.
Growth
Medium-strong to strong growth. For garden and standard orchard, at higher sites as espalier. Not wind-firm.
Yield
Early start of bearing, later high and regular yields.
Notes
Warm sites with nutrient-rich, adequately moist soils needed, cultivation up to 350 m; higher site demands. Good frost hardiness. Blossom mid-early to mid-late, tree-ripe mid September, ready to eat September to early October; keeps only 2 to 3 weeks.
Care
As it is not wind-firm, pick before full tree ripeness. Note the short eating window and use quickly.
