Fruit
Very firm, hard, sweetish with only slight aroma. Nearly inedible raw; the dry texture makes it a particularly good roasting pear.
Growth
Vigorous growth, suited to the standard orchard.

Regular, high yields.
Notes
Barely disease-prone, widely adaptable, also for harsh sites and mountain areas above 350 m; no special heat needs. On the NRW list of recommended old orchard varieties. Blossom mid-early to mid-late, ready to pick October to early November; keeps about 5 months in natural storage.

Undemanding, robust orchard variety with low care needs. Use as a cooking and roasting pear after storage.
