Description
Fruit
Very juicy, finely melting, predominantly fine wine-tart, sweet enough and harmoniously noble-aromatic, delicate. Very bruise-sensitive when ripe.
Growth
Medium vigour. For garden, espalier and orchard meadow; develops its aroma best on a wall espalier.
Yield
Cropping starts medium-late to late, then stays high and regular. On less suitable sites yields remain low.
Notes
High demands on soil and site; for warmer positions up to about 250 m. Tree-ripe late Sept to early Oct, eating-ripe mid Oct to mid Nov, keeps only 2 to 3 weeks.
Care
Harvest just before tree ripeness. Pick and handle gently due to high bruise-sensitivity; use a wall espalier to boost aroma.
