Notes

Old regional variety from the Bergisches Land for orchards - drying, pear syrup and limited dessert use. Very undemanding on soil and climate, no special heat need, grows even in mountains above 350 m. Barely prone to scab or wood and blossom frost, late-blooming. Tree- and eating-ripe mid-Aug to early-Sep, for immediate use only. Listed among recommended old orchard varieties in NRW.

Little pruning needed after the formative phase. Process fruit at once as it quickly turns mealy and bland.
