Small fruit, firm and juicy; when fully ripe high in sugar, quite spicy, sour and tart.

Strong vigour; heavy cropper.

Bears mid-early and then stays very high; considered a mass bearer.

Notes

Extremely robust perry and distilling pear for the traditional orchard, suits almost any site including mountains above 350 m. Eating-ripe late Sep to early Oct, keeps about two weeks. Especially good for cuvees with sweet pear or apple juice.

Care

Little care needed; thin regularly because of very high yields to prevent branch breakage.
