Description
Fruit
Juicy fruit with a tart-sweet, spicy flavour. The flesh turns soft and mealy quickly after picking, so it must be processed promptly.
Growth
Vigorous tree with low site demands.
Yield
Comes into bearing early, later high and regular.
Notes
Robust utility variety for traditional orchards. Very undemanding on site, no special heat requirement, grows even above 350 m. Blooms mid-early to mid-late. Slight scab tendency in damp sites, otherwise very robust; somewhat frost-sensitive when young.
Care
Pick close to ripeness (mid-Sep to early-Oct) and process at once, as fruit goes mealy fast. Protect young trees from hard frost.
