Description
Fruit
Very juicy with firm flesh, harmoniously sweet-sour and distinctly astringent. Slightly higher sugar than the Schweizer Wasserbirne, yields excellent perry.
Growth
Vigorous growth with a broadly spreading crown; a typical tall-stem meadow tree.
Yield
Early to come into bearing, staying high later on. Ripe fruit drops all at once within a few days.
Notes
Exceptionally sturdy and weather-tolerant, no special heat needs, recommended even above 400 m. Tree-ripe mid September, usable mid September to early October. Keeps only about 10 days, then turns mealy fast. Also excellent blended with apple juice.
