Description
Fruit
Juicy and buttery, fully melting, mildly sweet-sour and pleasant with a variety-typical but faint aroma - more a pear to drink than to chew. Bruises easily and turns mealy quickly when fully ripe.
Growth
Medium vigour; not wind-firm. Suited to garden, espalier and meadow orchard.
Yield
Early into bearing, later cropping richly and regularly.
Notes
Prefers warmer, sheltered sites with higher heat needs, in the open up to 300 m, higher as espalier. Tree-ripe early to late October, ready late October to December. Pick before tree-ripeness due to poor wind-firmness. Cold storage until first frost.

Harvest before tree-ripeness since the variety is not wind-firm; handle fruit gently and pressure-free. Ensure good airflow on scab-prone sites.
