Fruit
Medium-firm to soft, very juicy, melting to running, sweet and barely acidic with a faint muscat-like spice.
Growth
Weak growth; especially for garden and wall espalier. Fruit wind-firm until shortly before tree ripeness.
Yield
Cropping starts very early and stays high and regular.
Notes
Robust variety, resistant to scab and to wood and blossom frost. Thrives on classic pear soils (rich, moist, not too cold) with no raised warmth needs; grows up to mid-mountain sites around 350 m. Tree-ripe late August to early September, ready to use September, keeps only 1-2 weeks.

Pick just before tree ripeness while the fruit still hangs wind-firm and use it quickly; keep soil moist and rich.
