Storage

Given in thirds of a month (early / mid / late) for the northern hemisphere in a temperate climate; altitude and season shift them.

Description

Fruit

Strongly coloured dessert apple, mildly sweet-sour; rather unexciting in taste with little spice and acidity (rated 3+).

Growth

Strong to very strong growth; crown stiffly upright and narrow. Scaffold branches long, steep and sparsely branched, best tied down. Fruiting on one-year spurs and terminally bearing long shoots. Wind-firm.

Yield

Avoid excessive fruit loads.

Notes

Bred variety from the 1970s; long storable (about 6 months). Limited cultivation suitability.

Care

Reduce the vigorous growth by pruning; summer-prune for good light penetration; use long cutbacks and tie scaffold branches down.
