Storage

Given in thirds of a month (early / mid / late) for the northern hemisphere in a temperate climate; altitude and season shift them.

Description

Fruit

Pure yellow dessert apple; develops fine sweet aroma in mild climates (e.g. Mecklenburg), reaches only medium quality in the Westphalian region (grade 2-).

Growth

Vigorous tree.

Yield

Heavy drop at ripening makes it hard to judge the optimal harvest date.

Notes

Limited cultivation suitability. Clearly prone to mildew and scab, partly to canker too. Keeps only briefly (about 0.5 to 2 months).

Care

Pick early and in several passes because of heavy drop at ripening. Thin the crown to reduce mildew and scab pressure; cut out canker.
