Description
Fruit
Juicy, half- to fully melting, distinctively refreshing wine-sour, low in sweetness and finely spiced. Large-fruited; the fruit shows bumps and looks angular.
Croissance
Medium vigour, in youth prone to crooked growth and drooping branches; less suited to espalier.
Rendement
Bears mid-early to mid-late and later reaches a high and regular level.
Remarques
Dessert, compote and preserving pear with higher heat need; requires warm, wind-still sites with fertile, moist soil, prefers air-dry solitary spots, up to 350 m. Blooms mid-early to mid-late. Pick as late as possible from early October (storm-firm until ripeness), eating-ripe Oct to Nov, keeps 3-4 weeks - very pressure-sensitive when ripe and quickly mealy.
Entretien
Stabilise against crooked growth and drooping branches by formative pruning when young. Pick as late as possible and handle ripe fruit gently.
