Description
Fruit
Tart perry pear high in sugar and tannins, meant for processing rather than fresh eating.
Croissance
Vigorous, strong growth, a classic tall-trunk orchard variety.
Rendement
Cropping starts mid-early and turns heavy unless late frosts damage the bloom; strongly variable in cool sites.
Remarques
Adapts to varied sites and tolerates poor soils (neither too wet nor too dry). Grows up to mountain sites around 900 m. Tree-ripe mid October, ready to use early November, natural storage about 6 weeks.
Entretien
In high or late-frost sites pick sheltered spots; thin the tall-trunk crown regularly in orchard use.
