Description
Fruit
Culinary and dessert apple, a classic baking apple: the pale flesh stays firm when baked and hardly browns; rated 3+, moderate. High share of misshapen fruit. Keeps up to 5 months.
Growth
Medium at first, weak later. Small, broad-round, often uneven crown; obliquely upright, later leaning, sparsely branched limbs with fruit switches and whorl wood. Wind-firm, but fruit bruises against each other when set densely. Wood sensitive to frost.
Yield
Early into bearing, high and regular.
Notes
For standard orchards, preferring warm, sheltered sites.
Care
Cut leaders back hard in the first years after planting and prune regularly to keep vigour; thin fruit so they do not bruise each other.
