Fruit

Pale-yellow top-class dessert apple with a fine Cox-like aroma turning banana-like after longer storage; rated 1-2. Prone to rain marks and Topaz spots. Keeps until February.

Growth

Medium to strong, still medium at full cropping. Broad-pyramidal, drooping, densely branched crown with fairly flat, well-branched limbs. Wind-firm until ripe.

Yield

Early into bearing, high and regular, good quantity.

Notes

For gardens, with reservations for orchards, better in cooler regions. Needs airy sites, suits any soil. Unlike its parent Cox's Orange, resistant to apple canker.

Care

Sound formative pruning; when cropping only shorten leader tips and central branch, thin regularly and rejuvenate occasionally.
