Description

Fruit

Excellent dessert apple (rated 1 = very good) with strong aroma and firm acidity; reminiscent of a cross between Cox's Orange and Boskoop. Stores 3-4 months.

Growth

Triploid variety. Strong growth even at full bearing. Crown large and broad, similar to Boskoop. Few, long-noded shoots; heavier shoot growth on fertile soils. Wind-firm.

Yield

Relatively early onset, medium-high, tendency to biennial bearing; sometimes heavy June drop.

Notes

For garden and orchard. Bred in the 1960s from Cox's Orange seed.

Care

After the crown is built, only summer pruning to calm the trees and thin out.
