Description
Fruit
Attractively coloured fruit; aroma slightly rose-like, when fully ripe with a faint liquorice note, sweetish with little acidity (rated 3 where 1 is best). Fruit somewhat prone to sunburn.
Growth
Weak-growing at full-bearing age. Crown small and flat. Strikingly sparsely branched, short-shooted, later drooping leaders. Fruiting wood of one- and multi-year spurs along the few branches. Wind-firm.
Yield
Early onset, high fertility; but the sparse crowns keep total yields modest.
Notes
Suited to traditional orchards. Makes a good, mild apple juice.
Care
Prune the leaders more often to encourage branching and prevent premature senescence.
