Storage

Given in thirds of a month (early / mid / late) for the northern hemisphere in a temperate climate; altitude and season shift them.

Description

Fruit

Nicely coloured fruit with a strong scent of strawberry, rose and orange; high sugar, good sweet-acid balance, excellent, refined, rose-like and complex flavour (grade 2-). With longer storage develops notes of caraway and other spices.

Growth

Medium vigour, weak later on.

Yield

A connoisseur's variety suited to the garden.

Notes

Descended from Cox Orange. Prone to mildew, otherwise fairly healthy. Only short storage (4-5 weeks).
