Description

Fruit

Highly variable pod and bean shape, beans white to purple. Aromatic with a good share of fine flavour.

Growth

Natural hybrid of Criollo and Forastero that arose on Trinidad after the collapse of its Criollo plantations. Vigorous and relatively hardy.

Yield

Medium to high yield; harvested year-round. A key source of fine flavour cacao alongside Nacional and Criollo.

Notes

Basis of many named cultivars (ICS, TSH etc.). Partly recognised as fine flavour.
