Uses
Growing
Peas prefer a sunny site with well-drained, moist soil and a neutral pH. Sow 4-6 weeks before the last frost, about 2.5 cm deep and 7 cm apart in rows 90 cm apart. Podded varieties need a support, while pea shoots can grow along the ground. Enrich the soil with compost before planting. Plants need even moisture but no waterlogging. Peas are cold-tolerant and thrive best at temperatures between 15 and 24 ยฐC. Harvest after 60-70 days depending on the variety.
