Description
Fruit
Deep-red, scab-free dessert apple with Cox aroma; rated 1-2. Prone to fruit cracking and rotting fruit.
Growth
Medium vigour; broad-round, spreading, later drooping crown, dense from heavy branching. Initially steep scaffold branches whose growth later slackens; branches and shoots mostly pendulous. Fruiting wood mainly two-year-old long shoots evenly set with one-year-old spurs.
Yield
Yield starts early and is heavy, with a tendency to biennial bearing.
Notes
Very popular in Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein; Cox-like in flavour.
Care
Formative pruning when young, then ongoing supervision, thinning-out and renewal of the fruiting branches.
