Description
Fruit
Large to very large, firm fruit with a mainly tart flavour (3+); stays firm when baked and browns little.
Growth
Triploid variety, at first strong then medium in vigour. Crown conical to broad-round, wide-spreading and open; sturdy but poorly branched limbs. Wind-firm.
Yield
Yield begins late, then even and heavy.
Notes
Classic baking and culinary apple, keeps about 6 months; recommended as a traditional-orchard variety in NRW.
Care
Maintenance pruning promotes better branching and prevents premature ageing of the wood.
