Acidic-aromatic apple (rated 2); the best aroma develops only from around March.
Growth
Weak-growing tree.
Yield
Long-storing but with heavy losses (about half the crop lasts to April).
Notes
Connoisseur variety with higher care needs. Very long-keeping (7-8 months) but very prone to storage rot, so only about half the fruit survives until April. Inherits mildew susceptibility from its parent Jonathan; low susceptibility to scab and canker, prone to sooty blotch.
Care
Cut out mildewed shoots because of susceptibility; inspect storage frequently and remove rotting fruit early.
