Storage

Given in thirds of a month (early / mid / late) for the northern hemisphere in a temperate climate; altitude and season shift them.

Description

Fruit

Tart-sweet, similar to Boskoop but slightly less acidic and even more spicy (rated 2-3).

Growth

Vigorous with a broad, flat to rounded crown. The slightly raised, often almost horizontal scaffold branches carry evenly medium to long side wood. Very wind-firm.

Yield

Cropping starts moderately early, is medium-high and regular, with a slight alternation between stronger and weaker years.

Notes

Originates from the Zabergäu region southwest of Heilbronn in Baden-Württemberg. Suitable for orchard and garden.

Care

Needs little pruning; regular thinning-out is generally sufficient. The side wood is evenly set with short and long fruit spurs and fruit rods.
