Fruit

Pear-shaped fruit, 150-250 g, with a thick pebbly skin that turns from green to blackish-purple when ripe. Flesh creamy, high oil content (up to 23%), nutty.

Growth

Moderately vigorous, upright tree. Frost-sensitive (to about -1 °C).

Yield

Very productive, tends to alternate bearing. Holds and stores well on the tree over a long window.

Notes

With about 80% of world commercial production, by far the most important cultivar.
