Description
Fruit
Red cherries in dense clusters. Pronounced sweetness and balanced acidity in the cup.
Growth
Bushy, upright growth with many secondary branches and shorter internodes than Typica.
Yield
Higher yield than Typica (roughly 20–30% more). Prone to biennial bearing and cherry drop in wind.
Notes
Susceptible to rust and nematodes. Parent of many bred cultivars (Caturra, Catuaí, Mundo Novo, SL lines).
