Description
Fruit
Tart, tannin-rich and rather flavourless cider/cooking apple (rated 4-), barely suitable for dessert use.
Growth
Vigorous, wind-firm tree.
Yield
Marked biennial bearing, alternating each year between very heavy crops and total failure; overall very high yield.
Notes
Early orchard variety, robust against scab, canker and mildew, but fruit strongly prone to bitter pit. Good as a blend component for sweet early-variety juices. Only short storage (1 to 1.5 months).
