Uses
Growing
Carrots grow best in full sun to partial shade on moist, neutral to slightly acidic, sandy loam soils. Avoid heavy, compacted clay soils, which impair root formation. Sow the seed directly about 0.5 cm deep and thin the plants to 5-7 cm apart. Keep the soil evenly moist to avoid woody or bitter roots. Too much nitrogen promotes leaf growth at the expense of root development.
