Medicinal: The resin of this tree has antiseptic, antispasmodic, cytostatic, expectorant, and wound-healing properties. It is taken internally to treat chronic bronchial infections, streptococcal, urinary and kidney infections, bleeding, gallstones, tapeworms, and rheumatism. Externally, it is used for arthritis, gout, sciatica, scabies, and lice. It has also been used in the treatment of cancer.
