Given in thirds of a month (early / mid / late) for the northern hemisphere in a temperate climate; altitude and season shift them.

Large, golden fruit with thin skin and fibreless, very juicy, honey-sweet flesh.

Vigorous, late-ripening tree; extends the season after the early cultivars.

Harvest in Pakistan and North India July to August; the leading Pakistani export cultivar.

The name is attributed to Mughal ruler Sher Shah Suri (place Chausa).
