Description
Fruit
Sweet fruit with a sharp but not unpleasant acidity in the aftertaste, modest aroma, banana-like smell. Tends to small fruit at full crop; without regular pruning the fruit stays small and poor.
Growth
Medium vigour, upright globular crown. Main branches steep or obliquely upright, densely set with side wood; fruit spurs and switches sit close along the side branches. Wind-firm.
Yield
Cropping starts fairly early, high to very high, with a tendency to biennial bearing.
Notes
Heavy-cropping, robust meadow-orchard variety, recommended for planting by the NRW orchard-protection committee.
Care
Regular monitoring cuts required, with frequent rejuvenation of both leaders and side wood. Thin for dessert use to break the biennial habit.
