Fruit

Medium, heart- to egg-shaped fruit with bright red, bumpy skin. White, juicy and sweet flesh.

Growth

Vigorous, spreading tree; highly adaptable and reliable across many climates.

Yield

Early season (May-June N. hemisphere). High, regular yields; leading export cultivar in South Africa (called Mauritius there).

Notes

Seed size variable; often large stone, sometimes chicken-tongue. Prone to fruit splitting in wet weather.
