Uses

Other uses: Plants can be grown as a hedge in exposed positions as they tolerate maritime exposure. They grow quite rapidly and respond well to frequent pruning. While the plant does not form a dense hedge, it tends to have an open growth habit. Due to nitrogen fixation, it enriches the soil rather than depleting nutrients from it. An essential oil extracted from the flowers is utilized in perfumery. A gum obtained from the plant is used in the textile industry for calico printing. The wood is hard, fine-grained, and employed for posts, beams, household items, and carvings. It also serves as an excellent fuel source.
