Brussels sprouts prefer a sunny site with nutrient-rich, moist, well-drained soil and a pH between 6.0 and 7.0. The plants need regular watering and benefit from nitrogen feeding every 2-3 weeks during the growth phase. Sow in spring and set out the plants in June. Harvest in autumn and winter, ideally after the first frost, which improves the flavor.
