Description
Growth
Vigorous, cold-tolerant var. sinensis; buds mid-early and forms dense plucking tables.
Yield
First flush (ichibancha) usually late April–May; several harvests per year in the Northern Hemisphere.
Notes
Sensitive to spring frost on new growth; often protected by frost fans in Japan.
