Shorter, broader pods that often do not split, with lower vanillin but an intensely floral-fruity aroma (heliotrope, cherry, anise, caramel).

IMPORTANT: Vanilla ×tahitensis is a distinct species (hybrid origin), NOT a variety of V. planifolia - listed here only for reference/differentiation. Grown mainly in French Polynesia and Papua New Guinea.
