Uses
Medicinal: The leaves and wood have antiseptic properties and help to dissolve mucus. They act as a disinfectant on the respiratory tract.
Other uses: An oil similar to turpentine is extracted from the wood, which is highly durable and retains its pleasant scent for many years.
Origin & habitat
North Africa to Western Asia - Lebanon, Syria, and Turkey.
Upper slopes of the Atlas Mountains, where there is little to no rain during the growing season, but the soil is nourished by the melting snow from the peaks above.
