Growing

The London plane grows best in sunny sites with moist, humus-rich, well-drained soils. It tolerates urban air pollution and clay soils. Propagation is by hardwood cuttings in winter or by suckers in autumn or late winter. Because of its strong root system it should not be planted near buildings.
