Large, seedless fruit with the characteristic navel at the blossom end; thick, easy-peeling rind and sweet, aromatic flesh.

Medium-vigour, round-canopied tree; more heat-sensitive than Valencia.

Table fruit for fresh eating; juice turns bitter quickly due to limonin, so rarely juiced.

Ancestor of all navel selections worldwide (introduced to California from Brazil in 1873).
